The WRX has been on the market near 7 months now, and I finally have what looks to be a serious buyer. But that's going to leave me in need of a car/truck. So of course I've been doing what any sensible person would do. I've been looking. Heres what I've found.
Contestant #1:
1996 F150 I6 Manual
Slow, but pretty, cheap, and a manual. For $1,800 it's pretty damn tempting.
But of course I could never have JUST a practical DD. So I'd save up and pick up a Ruckus over the summer

Contestant #2:
2003 Mazda Miata
This is where it'd be tricky. It's $5,300 so I'd need to convince a bank to give me a loan on a 12 year old car with 109,000 miles on it. Slightly tricky, but I imagine doable.

Contestant 3:
2004 Jetta GLI
Similar boat as the Miata, Only way more practical. 130,000 miles though at $6,000, could probably talk that down a bit.

present the loan officer with some reliability data on miatas. Be sure to use the phrase "it's just now getting broken in" at least 12 times.

Hmmm Tempting. What about, "Because racecar!" They'd love that right?

I can't disagree with any option that includes a Ruckus.

You really can't go wrong with one of those straight-6 F150s, they're damn near bulletproof.

I'd say the Jetta or the truck is your best bet. The Miata just isn't practical. At all.

Why do u want to sell the WRX? How much are you getting for it? List it on the Kalamazoo Craigslist because everyone here at WMU drives one and the prices have skyrocketed. And people buy them up fast.
The miata would be a good deal with the upgrades that are listed for it. It looks pretty clean. Its also looks to be an ls model so that means LSD. Also 03 is the best year. I know i drive one.
The ford f150 doesnt look to bad but watch out for rust. The i6 fords are very rusty beasts especially when they are from Michigan.
And the jetta is FWD so nope. :)

Its just too expensive. Between payments and oil changes every 3k it's a pain in the ass. Should get around $10k for it. I owe pretty much that though.

Yea here in Kalamazoo you could get way more than that cause all the college bros want them.
